Call on Redbridge to clean up their act

On Thursday 20th June, Redbridge Councillors will vote on a motion asking the Council to go carbon neutral by 2030, in line with many other boroughs including Newham and Waltham Forest. Like it or loathe it, with climate tipping points fast approaching, we’ve run out of time to pretend it’s not happening and do nothing. So why not spend a few minutes writing an email to Redbridge’s Councillors to ask them to support the motion and commit to a cleaner, greener future. You can find their email addresses here (you could contact the Executive group or even all of them).

Wanstead locals will be joining others from around the borough by gathering outside the Town Hall in Ilford at 6.30pm on the evening of the vote to show arriving councilors that local people want Redbridge to support measures that reduce emissions and pollution. It would be great if as many people as possible are there.

Despite some progress, national Government and big business are still failing to decisively address the climate emergency. Let’s encourage our local politicians to lead the way.
